Does Winnipeg Have a Comedy Club?
Rumor’s Comedy Club is the best and longest serving comedy club in Winnipeg, and is regarded by many in the industry as the best in Canada, and one of the best in all of North America!
And that’s not just us tooting our own horn. Stand up legend, Norm MacDonald himself called Rumor’s the “best club in Canada”, and a recent industry article ranked Rumor’s Comedy Club 5th in all of North America behind legendary comedy spots like LA’s Comedy Store and New York’s Comedy Cellar.
So what makes Rumor’s so good? Here’s the secrets to our success.
Why is Rumor’s the best comedy club in Winnipeg?
There are many things that go in to making a great comedy club, from major components like the comedians themselves, to smaller things like a precisely tuned sound system.
Here are all the ways we make your Winnipeg comedy experience a world-class one.
Rumor’s has the best comedians
We pride ourselves on having the best stand up comedy in Winnipeg. Every week we bring in the most talented comedians from around North America to entertain Winnipeg comedy fans. Our walls are lined with headshots from some big name comics who performed here before they were famous. From Andrew Schulz, to Sugar Sammy, to Jerry Seinfeld, Winnipeg has seen some incredible talent perform on the Rumor’s stage.

Not only that, but we also tap in to the best Winnipeg comedians to host and headline, and our annual Winnipeg’s Funniest Person with a Day Job competition is a staple of the local comedy scene.
Check out our event listings page to see all the comedians coming to Winnipeg in 2023.

Rumor’s has great food
When you think about comedy clubs, your first thought might not be food. But, one trip to Rumor’s and that’ll change. We have a vast menu with appetizers, entrees, sharable platters, and desserts. Our heaping nacho platter is always a fan favorite.

We also have an extensive cocktail menu, 10 wine options, 14 beers (including non-alcoholic options), and specialty coffees.
Celebrities drop by Rumor’s when they’re in town
Our reputation as a great comedy club goes well beyond the Perimeter Highway. Movie stars who find themselves in Winnipeg to shoot a film often find their way to Rumor’s for a night of relaxation.
We’ve been lucky enough to have drop-ins from the likes of Bob Odenkirk (Better Call Saul), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Kaitlin Olson (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), and Bryan Regan when they find themselves in town. And we’re always entertaining groups of Winnipeg Jets who come in for a laugh on a rare night off.

Kaitlin Olson paid a visit to Rumor's while in town shooting Champions.
Of course, sometimes the celebrity is the show. Our concert series events have brought big names to our little club such as Louis CK, Rob Schneider, Marlon Wayans, Jason Mewes, and Norm MacDonald.

Rumor’s has the perfect atmosphere for comedy
There are many things that go into a good comedy show, and atmosphere is often the most overlooked. But, we’ve got it down to a science at Rumor’s. Our low ceilings make for great acoustics, and our sound system is crystal clear, so you won’t miss a single punch line. In fact, this is one of the reasons that comedians from across North America choose Rumor’s as the venue to record their comedy albums.
K. Trevor Wilson has recorded two comedy albums at Rumor's Comedy Club.
In addition to the sound, our serving staff is quiet and friendly, making sure that you get your order quickly and aren’t disturbed during the show when it arrives at your table. And they do it all in the dark, too! Not an easy feat.
Rumor’s has great deals
Winnipeggers love a good deal. That’s why Two-For-One Tuesday is one of the best nights of the week at Rumor’s. Two people get in for the price of one.
If you’re in the mood for a burger, come on out on a Wednesday for our Early Burg Special, where you’ll get a cheeseburger and fries along with your show ticket for just $20. This is a popular deal, especially during Le Burger Week in September. Our entry this year is called the Gravy Giggler Burger, which features a 4 oz beef patty, two strips of bacon, fried onions, and a cascade of beef gravy.

Want to impress a date? Take advantage of our Thursday Date Night Package. For just $69 including tax and gratuity you’ll get two show tickets, an appetizer, and a bottle of wine.
Rumor’s has free parking
Any Winnipegger knows how important parking is when you’re planning your night. Well you don’t have to worry about that at Rumor’s. We have tons of free parking, so you don’t have to worry about finding a spot, and you can rest easy knowing you won’t come out to find your car ticketed or towed. We are an 18+ establishment, however, so be sure to leave your kids in the car. Just kidding, they can wait in the Safeway across the way.
You can have your wedding social at Rumor’s
Looking for a hassle-free option for your wedding social? Look no further than Rumor’s. If you choose to have your wedding social at Rumor’s, you won’t have to worry about printing tickets, getting a liquor license, or providing food. And we have room for your silent auction prizes in our lobby, so it’s usually a great return for the bride and groom to-be.

You can also arrange to have your bachelor or bachelorette party at Rumor’s. We’ll give a small gift and free entry to the future newlywed, and discounted tickets for the rest of their crew.
The Rumor’s Birthday Club
Celebrate your big day with us. Join the Rumor’s Birthday Club, and the birthday girl or boy will receive free entry and a special birthday gift from the club, while the rest of the party will get in to the show for half-price. You can also arrange to have a birthday cake served, or if you have any other special requests, we’d love to hear about how we can make you special day even more special.
Rumor’s is the longest running Winnipeg comedy club
Rumor’s has been around since 1984 — nearly 40 years — and we’re still the top choice for stand up comedy in Winnipeg. Great staff, great food, great laughs — what more could you want from a comedy club?
We’ve got some incredible comedians coming in the next couple months, including Michael Ian Black (Wet Hot American Summer), Sugar Sammy, and K. Trevor Wilson (Letterkenny), so don’t miss out. And be sure to try our Le Burger Week burger beginning September 1.
“Great show tonight from the MC to the main act. We’re sore from laughing. Had dinner too. The burgers taste like home made, and are huge. The steak dinner is also tender and delicious. Great value in all regards. Excellent service. This is one of Winnipeg’s premier entertainment spots!” - Kim M.
