The Best Comedy Recordings From Winnipeg Comedians

Winnipeg comedy is banging on all cylinders these days, and there are more comedy albums and specials from the best Winnipeg comedians than ever before.

YouTube, Spotify, and Soundcloud are just some of the places you can find local faces spitting fire jokes. So, this week Rumor’s Comedy Club is going to show you all the Winnipeg comedy albums and specials that you need to know about.

Let’s Go!

Winnipeg comedy albums

If you’ve been to Rumor’s in the last little while, you know how good the local comedy talent is in Winnipeg. Our MCs are some of the best comedians in Winnipeg, and they always hold their own when they share the stage with the massive headliners that grace our stage every week.

Now our local heroes are putting out some great digital content, like these gems:

Jared Story: Good Ideas

A joke writer in the vein of Norm McDonald and Mark Normand, Jared Story has compressed 15 years of work into his debut album, Good Ideas. The result is a diamond.

Jared intertwines tales from his rural upbringing with the edgy opinions and observations of a city slicker. He’s always the most reasonable person in the room, whether he’s talking about serious political issues or butt-stuff.

This album drops on April 5, but you can pre-order right now.

Andy Noble: Prairie Fire

Andy Noble has been one of the top comedy performers in Winnipeg for a decade now. His new album Prairie Fire will show you why.

A story-teller by trade, Andy leaves no stone unturned as he mines the gold out of real moments from his life. He’s charming and disarming, so you really feel the funny when he’s spinning yarns about his relationship, his childhood, and life as a comedian.

Tim Gray: You Gotta Laugh

One of the hardest working comedians Winnipeg has ever seen, Tim Gray self-produced this ripper of a comedy album. If you’re tired of boundary pushing edgy comedians, then this is the album for you. You Gotta Laugh is wall-to-wall silly, and Tim’s alternative comedy pedigree is on full-display as he pushes the boundaries of the audio-only medium.

Emmanuel Lomuro: Day Dreams

One of the fastest rising stars in the Winnipeg comedy scene, Emmanuel Lomuro has already appeared on CBC’s Laugh Out Loud, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and Comedy Records’ Winnipeg Comedy compilation album.

Soon (April 2024) you’ll be able to get Emmanuel all on his own with his debut mini-special, Day Dreams, produced by Canadian stand-up comedy giant Comedy Records.

Tyler Penner: So Many Walls

Love. Relationships. Growing wiser. These are things you won’t ever hear Tyler Penner talk about.

Tyler approaches every situation and interaction with optimism and a backpack full of beers. But those high hopes are quickly dashed, and he always runs out of beer too soon. The result is the bitter rantings of a man who truly, honestly tried. Now, he’s resigned himself to being a cautionary tale. And, what better way to get the word out than putting it all on Bandcamp?

Spencer Adamus: Easy to Kill

Spencer Adamus may be small in stature, but his stage presence is enormous.

With great comedic timing and expressive act-outs, Easy to Kill takes you on a tour of life as seen through the eyes of a… well… a short guy. Underestimated and overconfident, Adamus often finds himself in ridiculous scenarios, made even more ridiculous by his never-let-them-see-you-sweat attitude.

It’s been a big year for Spencer, who, along with the release of Easy to Kill has hit every major Just For Laughs festival in Canada, and is showing no signs of slowing down.
