Comedians Coming to Winnipeg in 2023
Doug Stanhope, Ashley Gavin, and Jay Mewes are just a few of the incredible comedians coming to Winnipeg in 2023.
This year just keeps getting funnier and funnier as Rumor’s Comedy Club brings in killer headliner after killer headliner. If you’re looking to cut loose and have some laughs in 2023, Rumor’s is the place to be.
Here’s a look at Winnipeg comedy show listings for 2023.
April
Dan Mintz - April 13–15
Bob’s Burgers fans will recognize Dan Mintz as the voice of the awkward, butt-obsessed eighth grader, Tina Belcher. Mintz’s monotone one-liners are as smart as they are surprising, and you’ll want to share his jokes with your coworkers on Monday.
Tony Woods - April 18–22
Tony Woods’ laid back observational style is equal parts cerebral and trivial, creating a cool comedy club atmosphere where anything and everything goes. A Tony Woods show is like jazz and philosophy meeting at a bar to have a drinking contest and argue about whether pineapple belongs on pizza.
Tony was an early mentor for the great Dave Chappelle. When accepting the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, Chappelle said of Tony Woods: “(Tony was) the first person I ever saw do (stand up comedy) absolutely right”. Trust us, he does.
Ashley Gavin - April 27–29
Quick as a whip and sharp as a tac, Ashley Gavin has gained a huge following for her off-the-cuff riffs with audience members and guests on her podcast, We’re Having Gay Sex. Gavin’s infectious energy bridges age and culture uniting every room she plays under the banner of comedy.
Gavin’s new special drops on April 23, 2023 on YouTube.

May
Doug Stanhope - April 30 and May 1
Some call him a degenerate. Some call him a genius. But, no matter what you call him, Doug Stanhope probably doesn’t give a F@#$. The king of irreverent comedy makes his way back to Winnipeg for two nights (April 30 and May 1), and he packs light, so don’t expect him to bring any apologies.
He’s dark. He's a recluse. But above all, this guy is a COMEDIAN.
Jacob Samuel - May 2
Juno award-winning comedian Jacob Samuel comes to Rumors on May 2nd as part of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. Jacob’s intelligent and self-effacing jokes are like intricately laid traps that he ends up stepping in himself.
Rumor’s Comedy Club hosts the Winnipeg Comedy Festival club series with a new headliner every single night of the fest.
Lachlan Patterson - May 16–May 20
With a nonchalant surfer vibe—and the looks to boot—Lachlan Patterson meticulously unpeels the world around him, inspecting every strand before throwing it on the pile with all the rest of his miniscule yet profound observations.
A finalist on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, Lachlan is a comedian of great talent and great hair.
Jay Mewes - May 26 and 27
Snoochie boochie noochies! Jay Mewes, star of the cult classic Jay and Silent Bob films, returns to Rumor’s Comedy Club in May. Mewes’ lovable demeanor will have you hanging on his every word as he tells stories from his unlikely journey through Hollywood. Jay truly is that hilarious guy from highschool that you always thought should be in the movies.

June
Mark Little - June 6–June 10
If you like silly, Mark Little’s got it in droves. The Halifax native has had a very eclectic career in comedy, from his time with the sketch comedy group, Picnicface, to producing his own cartoon called Gary and His Demons, to his stand up comedy appearance on Conan.
From the moment he hits the stage, it is clear to everybody in the audience that this is a guy who loves to laugh and have fun, and that’s about the best quality a comedian can have.
