Winnipeg TikTok Influencers

TikTok, the video-sharing app, has taken the world by storm over the past couple years. The platform has become a marketplace for ideas and expertise on anything and everything. Here are some Winnipeggers making waves on Tik Tok.

@noproblemgambler

If you're a sports fan or a pop culture nut, you'll love @noproblemgambler. This Winnipeg TikTok personality entertains his 1.1 million followers by figuring out the when, where, and final score of the sports games you see in the background on your favorite movies and TV shows. This guy's detective work is matched only by his sports knowledge, and just about anybody can enjoy watching the process as he solves what always seems like an impossible problem.

Check out how he figures out which hockey game was playing in the background of Daredevil season 2, episode 13:

NPG has other interesting sports-related content as well, including Top-10-style lists of unsportsmanlike moments, weird moments in sports, crazy plays, and more.

@indigenous_baddie

Michelle Chubb, aka @indigenous_baddie hails from the Bunibonibee Cree Nation, and calls Winnipeg home. But, she seems just as at home on TikTok, where she has amassed a whopping 618 thousand followers. Her TIkTok features commentary on current events from an indigenous point of view, often laced with humor. Chubb also likes to put an indigenous twist on current TikTok trends like her version of the "get ready with me" viral trend:

The 25-year-old jingle dancer has accumulated over 25 million likes and has been featured in the American online magazine, Teen Vogue. Since then, Chubb has used her platform to educate, and just this year released her first Ted Talk.

@Topebabalola

Up-and-coming film maker, Tope Babalola gained attention on TikTok for his hilarious one-man skits in which he, himself plays multiple characters. His popularity exploded during the pandemic after Elle Magazine featured him in an article called 18 BIPOC TikTok Creators You Should Be Following. Since then, Babalola has moved to Toronto, and his feed features more videos about his journey through the film industry, though you'll still see a new skit every now and then.

Winnipeg Instagram influencers

Instagram is where you go if you want to see people living their best lives. Here are some Winnipeg influencers putting their best foot forward on Instagram.

Roshan Prince

Musician, movie star, director — Roshan Prince does it all. And he does it from Winnipeg!

Born in Lucknow, India, Prince came to Winnipeg in 2016. He has starred in 29 movies, music videos, and television series, and he's also released 17 — that's right 17 — Bhangra albums. Talk about multi-talented. In 2021, Prince wrote and directed his first feature film, 13Teen, which is the first movie to be filmed in Winnipeg with a predominantly Punjabi cast and crew.

Roshan Prince has 616 thousand followers on Instagram where he shows off his movie star lifestyle and gives inquiring minds a sneak-peak into upcoming projects.

Nicole Zajac

If you're looking for a powerful, body-positive influencer, look no further than Winnipeg's own Nicole Zajac. This forward-thinking dynamo delivers an empowering message to her 113,000 Instagram followers (69K on TikTok) with fashion photos, playful poses, and smart skits. Zajac is the creator of the #filterfreefriday and #nakedhour hashtags, which encourage her followers to become comfortable in their own skin — a refreshing message on a platform known for its superficiality.
