Our Favourite Back-to-School Jokes

Well it’s that time of year again — back to school time.

It’s a time when kids make friend and start to figure themselves out. It’s a big part of everyone’s lives, but it seems to stick with stand-up comedians just a little more.

So, this week, Rumor’s Comedy Club — the best comedy club in Winnipeg — is sharing some of our favorite stand-up bits about school.

Enjoy!

Norm MacDonald

The master himself, Norm MacDonald chats about school. Norm always pretended to be the dumbest guy in the room, but in actuality he was extremely well read and versed in philosophy. What a beauty!

Liz Blanc

Future former English teacher Liz Blanc goes off on the contradictions of her Gen-Z students. This entire set is hilarious and it really makes us appreciate the teachers and what they go through on a day-to-day basis to teach our kids.

John Mulaney

You can tell that John Mulaney’s been in a lot of trouble by how he absolutely nails the tone of the scornful school principal. For someone with such innocent boyish looks, John has lived the life of a rebel.

Orlando Baxter

Some of the best stand-up comics used to be teachers, like Gerry Dee or Orlando Baxter. And it’s no wonder — their work experience did a lot of the writing for them!

Adrienne Iappalucci

If you like your comedy dark, Adrienne Iapalucci is serving it up by the bowl full. And although her worldview is rather cynical, she’s at least trying to be a good person. The problem is she sometimes rationalizes her way out of doing the hard work.

Adrienne is a club favorite and that’s why we listed her in our article about the Top-10 Up-and-Coming Rumor’s Headliners.

Brian Regan

A comedy legend if there ever was one, Brian Regan’s blend of observation and physicality is an absolute masterclass in stand-up. No wonder he is worshiped by comedians clean and dirty.
